We are seeking an experienced Generalist HR Advisor ideally with a strong background in the Education sector to join the central HR team at their Head Office based in Croydon. Reporting directly to the HR Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in delivering proactive HR support, managing employee relations, and advising senior leadership across our network of schools.
This role requires immediate availability for an initial temporary contract running through to December, with potential scope for extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: Manage short- and long-term sickness absence, conduct, disciplinary processes, and grievances.
- Academy Support: Travel regularly to academies across South London; mainly Croydon, Crystal Palace, Bromley, Beckenham, Clapham, Carshalton, Peckham and Mitcham
- HR Training: Deliver and support HR-related training programs across the organisation.
- Advisory & Compliance: Provide accurate advice grounded in up-to-date UK employment law and educational sector standards.
Key Requirements
- Education HR Experience: Solid background as a generalist HR Advisor within the Education sector is preferred
- CIPD Qualification: CIPD Level 5 minimum preferred.
- Employment Law Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of current UK employment law.
- Mobility: Driving is strongly preferred due to frequent academy visits across South London.
- Communication & Professionalism: Excellent written/verbal communication skills and a highly professional presentation suited for executive-level meetings.
- Availability: Able to start as soon as possible following vetting and compliance
Working Pattern & Interview Process
- Hybrid Model: Office-based Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Home-based Tuesday and Thursday
- Interview: We aim to appoint as soon as possible. The process will consist of an initial teams meeting followed by a face to face interview
