Are you a passionate historian, geographer, or theologian with a drive to broaden young horizons? We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of Humanities to join our secondary academy in Bexley. We aren't just looking for someone to recount dates or map coordinates; we want an educator who can foster critical analysis, cultural literacy, and global empathy in every student.
Our academy is part of a leading multi-academy trust, celebrated for its "Scholarship and Aspiration" ethos. With a "firm but fair" approach to behaviour, we ensure that our classrooms are respectful spaces where complex ideas can be debated and explored.
Why Join Our Humanities Faculty?
Scale-Matched Pay: We strictly adhere to MPS/UPS scales, ensuring your daily rate reflects your subject expertise and experience.
Curriculum Excellence: Benefit from a sophisticated, "knowledge-rich" curriculum that connects the past, present, and future.
Managed Workload: Join a team that utilises shared Schemes of Work and centralised resources, allowing you to focus on high-impact teaching rather than reinventing the wheel.
Professional Growth: Access to the 2026 Faculty Framework, offering bespoke CPD and clear pathways into middle leadership for ambitious educators.
The Role
Deliver high-quality, thought-provoking lessons across Key Stage 3 and your subject specialism at Key Stage 4.
Cultivate a deep understanding of social, political, and environmental issues, helping students navigate a complex world.
Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting the character development of our young people.
Contribute to a vibrant department that prioritises oracy, literacy, and evidence-based argument.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong degree in History, Geography, Religious Studies, or a related Humanities field.
A "determined and thoughtful" practitioner who is committed to closing the cultural capital gap for disadvantaged students.
The ability to inspire students to look beyond their own experiences and engage with the wider world.
A professional who thrives in a collaborative, high-standards environment and is ready to make a visible impact.
