Whether you are teaching the fundamentals of digital literacy or the complexities of Python and binary logic, we need a teacher who can bridge the gap between consuming technology and creating it. This is a role for a practitioner who is passionate about the digital future and wants to equip students with the skills for a rapidly evolving world.
Your Responsibilities
- Future-Ready Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering everything from spreadsheet modeling and web design to computational thinking and algorithms.
- GCSE & Level 2 Specialist: Lead Year 10 and 11 students through Computer Science or Creative iMedia specifications, focusing on programming proficiency, hardware theory, and data representation.
- Coding Mentorship: Facilitate practical coding sessions, helping students debug their logic and develop efficient solutions in languages such as Python, HTML/CSS, or Java.
- Cyber-Safety Advocacy: Embed e-safety and digital citizenship into the curriculum, ensuring students understand the ethical and legal implications of technology.
- Inclusive Tech Support: Utilise adaptive software and hardware to ensure the ICT curriculum is accessible to all learners, including those with SEN or diverse learning styles.
- System Integration: Work alongside the IT technician team to ensure software, hardware, and networks are optimised for a high-quality learning experience.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Computer Science, ICT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Versatility: Confidence in teaching both "traditional" ICT skills (Office suites, media) and "modern" Computer Science (coding, networking, architecture).
- Logical Problem-Solver: The ability to explain complex, abstract concepts-like the Fetch-Execute cycle or Boolean logic-in a way that is clear and relatable.
- Engagement Strategy: A knack for gamification and project-based learning that keeps students motivated and focused in a screen-heavy environment.
