Bury Council is recruiting an experienced CP Chair / CLA IRO to join their Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service. Offering a competitive rate of £40.00 per hour, this role plays a pivotal part in upholding statutory standards across Child Protection Conferences and Looked After Children Reviews.

Key Responsibilities:
- Independent Statutory Chairing: Provide an independent chairing service for multi-agency Child Protection Conferences and Looked After Children (LAC) Statutory Reviews.
- Multi-Agency Facilitation: Facilitate effective inter-agency and departmental communication to ensure seamless multi-partner working across all safeguarding processes.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Promote, monitor, and enforce strict adherence to Child Protection procedures and Looked After Children statutory frameworks.
- Practice Elevation: Drive consistency, high practice standards, and clear outcome-focused care plans for children and families receiving local authority support.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Senior Safeguarding Experience: Significant post-qualifying experience as an IRO, CP Chair, LADO, Team Manager, or Service Manager within statutory Children's Services.
- Expert Legislation Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and local safeguarding board procedures.
- Diplomacy & Challenge: Excellent communication skills with the confidence to offer constructive professional challenge across partner agencies and internal teams.
