We are looking for an adaptable and passionate IT and Computer Science Supply Teacher to step into a full-time, long-term placement at an established secondary school in Bassingbourn. This role runs directly until December 2026, offering you a consistent timetable, excellent departmental support, and a clearly defined assignment length.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery: Lead and deliver high-quality IT and Computer Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), keeping learners engaged with coding, theory, and practical tasks.
Planning & Assessment (PPA): The role will include planning, preparation and marking duties. Effectively manage your lesson planning, grading, and tracking of pupil progress, ensuring high standards are maintained through to the end of the term.
Classroom Ecology: Create a focused, productive, and safe learning environment in the computer labs, fostering logical thinking and independent problem-solving skills.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside a supportive Computing and ICT faculty to ensure smooth continuity of learning for all classes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This is a mandatory requirement for this long-term supply position.
Proven experience delivering the secondary Computer Science and IT curriculum (including GCSE level).
Strong subject knowledge across programming concepts, digital systems, and computational logic.
A proactive, reliable approach to teaching with excellent classroom management strategies.
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete an urgent check).
