Are you an enthusiastic, approachable individual seeking a rewarding role as a Teaching Assistant?
Randstad Education is currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an encouraging school community in King's Lynn. Working on a full-time or adaptable basis, this role is perfect for experienced support staff, graduates, or individuals with a background in childcare, sports coaching, or youth mentoring who are eager to make a positive impact in the classroom.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils across core subjects, lead small group catch-up sessions, and provide targeted encouragement to help every student reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom & Learning Support: As an active Teaching Assistant, you will guide small groups and individual students through literacy, numeracy, and general curriculum activities.
- 1-to-1 Pupil Mentoring: Provide focused support for students needing extra help with reading, writing, or concentration, adapting explanations to suit their learning style.
- Classroom Preparation: Assist the class teacher with setting up learning materials, displays, and practical activity resources ahead of lessons.
- Promote Positive Engagement: Encourage good behaviour, active listening, and social communication skills using positive reinforcement.
- Track Pupil Progress: Provide verbal and written feedback to class teachers regarding student engagement, successes, and areas for extra support.
Candidate Profile
We are searching for a reliable, warm Teaching Assistant with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting young people.
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, nursery nurse, youth worker, or sports coach is highly desirable.
- Patient, encouraging, and empathetic approach with strong interpersonal presence.
- Punctual, proactive, and adaptable within a school environment.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to process one immediately through Randstad).
- Mandatory UK Right to Work (no visa sponsorship available).
