Laboratory Technician
Location: Dartford, UK (Onsite)
Contract Type: Full-time, 6-Month Contract
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £14.14 per hour
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join a growing microbiology manufacturing team. Working within a regulated manufacturing laboratory, you will prepare reagents and intermediates, carry out in-process testing, and ensure all work adheres to quality standards and standard operating procedures.
No prior specialized experience is required-full training will be provided by an experienced team, making this an ideal opportunity to build a career in science and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture intermediates and final reagents, including performing in-process quality testing.
- Safely handle microorganisms for use in testing procedures.
- Maintain high quality standards and accurately complete batch documentation.
- Monitor inventory and stock levels using computerized systems to ensure materials are available.
- Follow all site health, safety, and gowning/PPE requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team training programs.
Requirements
- Strong interest in science, microbiology, and manufacturing.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication abilities.
- Willingness to learn new processes and maintain high operational standards.
- Prior laboratory operations knowledge is preferred, but not mandatory.
Working Environment & Schedule
- Shift Pattern: Day shift (08:00 to 16:00).
- Breaks: 30-minute paid tea break and 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily.
- Equipment: All required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is fully provided on-site.
