Are you an experienced Learning Mentor looking for a rewarding, long-term role in Plymouth? We are recruiting dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) specialists to support pupils across local primary and secondary school sites.
This is a full-time, long-term position designed to help students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence in core subjects like GCSE Maths and English, and succeed in a positive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored 1-on-1 and small group intervention for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support pupils in developing confidence and skills in GCSE Maths and English.
- Utilise de-escalation strategies to foster a safe and positive learning space.
- Travel efficiently between local sites across Plymouth as required.
- SEMH Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
- Qualifications: Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in both Maths and English.
- Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Skills: Strong emotional resilience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
- Background Check: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Competitive Pay: £92.56 to £95.00 per day (paid weekly).
