We are supporting a leading campus in Lingfield, Surrey, providing specialist education and residential care for children and young adults aged 4-25 with special educational needs and disabilities, including epilepsy, autism, and severe learning disabilities.
You don't need years of previous experience in care to succeed here. If you are kind, patient, and ready to learn, and have 3-6 months experience we will give you all the training and support you need to build a highly rewarding career. What Does a Residential Support Worker Do?
No two days are ever the same. You will play an important part in creating a safe, caring, and encouraging home environment where young people feel valued, respected, and supported.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting young people with daily living skills and encouraging independence.
Providing personal care where required, always with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Building positive relationships that help young people feel safe and confident.
Encouraging participation in education, hobbies, recreation, and community activities.
Working closely with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families.
Recording important information and contributing to care plans.
A Great Personal Challenge: Supporting young people with complex needs can be challenging. Some individuals require support with mobility, personal care, or behaviours that may challenge. There will be busy days and emotional moments, but you will never face them alone. The difficult days are balanced by unforgettable moments-like watching a young person achieve a goal they've worked months to reach.
Shift Patterns Available (Up to 44.25 hours)
For the Monday-to-Friday option, shifts are a combination of:
Early: 06:45 to 13:30
Late: 15:45 to 22:00
Split/Long Day: 06:45 to 13:30 AND 15:45 to 22:00
You will be required to do a mix of these shit patterns.
