About Us
We are a leading special school and residential centre in East Grinstead, dedicated to supporting extraordinary children and young people aged 4 to 19. Our pupils live with epilepsy, autism, learning difficulties, and complex neurological conditions. We believe that with the right support, every young person can thrive, learn, and express their unique potential.
We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team. Whether you are looking for a full-time career or a rewarding part-time role (minimum 3 days), we want to hear from you.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, no two days are the same. You will work closely with our teaching and therapy teams to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Individualised Support: Assisting pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development, adapting to their unique communication and learning styles.
Safety & Wellbeing: Providing a secure environment for pupils with complex needs, including monitoring those with epilepsy or specific medical conditions (full training provided).
Classroom Collaboration: Helping the class teacher implement tailored learning plans and tracking pupil progress.
Building Confidence: Encouraging independence and life skills, helping our young people celebrate their daily wins.
What We Are Looking For
You don't need decades of classroom experience, but you do need a genuine passion for making a difference.
Requirements:
Experience: A minimum of 2 months of experience working or volunteering with individuals who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Attributes: Empathy, patience, a calm demeanour under pressure, and a great sense of humour.
Reliability: Excellent attendance and punctuality to ensure consistency for our pupils.
Flexibility: Availability for at least 3 days a week between Monday and Friday (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
Why Join Us?
Work-Life Balance: Term-time only hours mean you get school holidays off, with no weekend work.
Competitive Pay: Earning £89 to £105 per day.
Specialist Training: Gain invaluable, fully funded training in complex neurological conditions, epilepsy management, and autism support.
A Supportive Community: Work alongside a passionate, welcoming team in a highly rewarding and purposeful environment.
