About the Client
Randstad is delighted to be partnering with a modern, vibrant, and highly successful adult education centre in Cranleigh. This is an exceptional provision that is currently at maximum capacity with a buzzing waiting list, highlighting their incredible reputation in the local community.
They support a wonderful group of learners (primarily aged 18-35) with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions, brain injuries, and physical disabilities.
They don't just teach from a textbook; they focus on three core pillars to transform lives:
Work Experience: They own a bustling cafe right next door! Learners get hands-on experience learning how to grow, cook, and sell their own food.
Life Skills: Helping learners build real-world confidence by guiding them out into the community to master everyday tasks like shopping.
Education: Supporting students who are continuing their academic journeys or working towards qualifications. Many students transition here directly from the provider's school side, ensuring wonderful continuity of care.
The facilities are top-tier and include a full commercial kitchen, a large IT suite, an on-site gym, and a dedicated DT suite, giving you all the resources you need to make an impact.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will act as a mentor, guide, and motivator. You will support learners across all three pillars-whether that's assisting them in the cafe, accompanying them on community trips, or helping them with classroom learning. You will also help track and celebrate student success using their tailored progress-monitoring system, 'graphing'.
Note on Behavioural Needs: Some learners exhibit complex behavioural needs. Our client is looking for someone who can manage these challenges with patience, empathy, and positive de-escalation techniques.
What We Are Looking For
We want to hear from passionate individuals who have a background in adult social care, support work, or specialised education.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience working within Special Educational Needs (SEN) with adults, or a strong background in the care sector.
Education: A good general level of education is required to support learners with their studies.
Skills: Strong communication skills, resilience, and a knack for managing behavioural needs calmly and effectively.
Mindset: A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to help adults build independence.
Why Apply Through Randstad?
Fantastic Work-Life Balance: A consistent 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM routine with no shift work, weekend work, or sleep-ins.
Financial Stability: A highly competitive £25,000 salary paid all year round.
Excellent Environment: Work in a modern, resource-rich space with a supportive and passionate team.
