About the Role
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a dedicated and energetic MFL Teacher to take on a full-time position starting in September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging language lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with potential opportunities at Key Stage 5 depending on experience). This third-person role requires a professional who can seamlessly blend linguistic expertise with creative pedagogy, ensuring that all students-regardless of their starting point-develop a genuine love for languages.

Key Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent, recognised UK teaching qualification.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Up-to-date knowledge of the current GCSE MFL specification and assessment criteria.
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Required Skills
- Fluency (both written and spoken) in at least one major modern foreign language (e.g., French, Spanish, or German).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build quick rapport with students and staff.
- Strong classroom management abilities to maintain a focused and productive learning environment.
- Proficiency in integrating educational technology (ICT) into language lessons.
- Adaptability to tailor lesson plans effectively to meet diverse Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Creativity in developing engaging resources that bring foreign cultures and languages to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality MFL lessons that align with the National Curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of all students.
- Create an inclusive, positive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to linguistic learning.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies, including interactive technologies, to engage all learning styles.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with the established school policies.
- Prepare Key Stage 4 students thoroughly for their GCSE oral, listening, reading, and writing examinations.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to develop innovative learning resources and schemes of work.
- Participate in parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and whole-school professional development days.
- Identify students who require extra support or stretch opportunities and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Promote the value of foreign languages through extracurricular activities, clubs, or cultural events.
