Are you a passionate educator who believes that emotional well-being is the foundation of academic success? We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join a pioneering team at a brand-new, specialist secondary school catering to students with Autism (ASC) and associated social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing school from the ground up, shaping the environment and curriculum for young people (ages 11-16) who require a more supportive, therapeutic approach to learning.
The Role
As a Nurture Teacher, you will move beyond traditional instruction to provide a holistic educational experience. You will:
Lead a Nurture Group: Create a safe, predictable, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel secure enough to learn.
Personalise Learning: Develop and deliver differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual EHC plans, ensuring every student makes progress at their own pace.
Collaborate: Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom life.
Empower Students: Use non-confrontational, trauma-informed strategies to help students manage their emotions and develop social communication skills.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential.
SEND Experience: Proven experience working with students with ASC/SEMH is vital.
Resilience & Empathy: A genuine "nurture" mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Adaptability: The skill to pivot lessons based on the energy and needs of the classroom.
Why Apply?
Significant Welcome Bonus: £5,000 (for Qualified Teachers).
Professional Growth: Fully funded qualifications and clear pathways for career progression within a supportive group.
Comprehensive Benefits: Including life assurance, enhanced pension, sick pay, and access to financial wellbeing platforms like Wagestream and Perkbox.
Work-Life Balance: Dedicated finish times (including a 4:00 PM finish on Fridays).
