We are currently recruiting for two experienced Teaching Assistants to join a Year 1 team at a top-performing primary school in Stevenage. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting this September.
The Role
In this role, you will work closely with the Year 1 teacher to support the entire classroom, lead small group interventions, and offer targeted 1:1 support. Key focus areas and responsibilities include:
- Targeted Support: Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to boost pupil attainment and support early phonics and core skills.
- Classroom Management: Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management and daily classroom routines.
- Creative Learning: Using imagination and adaptability to tailor learning resources on the spot to meet individual pupil needs.
- Progress Tracking: Helping children build confidence and make strong academic progress throughout the year.

Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience: Prior experience working with primary school children (prior knowledge of Year 1 curriculum, interventions, or early assessments is strongly preferred).
- Compliance: An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to Work: Proof of eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
- Attributes: Strong classroom management skills, adaptability, and a warm, professional approach.
