Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact? Randstad Social Care is seeking a compassionate social worker to join a team in the beautiful Scottish Borders. In this role, you will be a vital advocate for children and young people, guiding them through complex journeys from pre-birth through to their transition into adulthood.
Responsibilities- Child Protection & Safeguarding: Lead complex risk assessments, Section 52 inquiries, and joint investigative interviews to safeguard children and young people up to age 18.
- Caseload Management: Oversee a diverse, balanced statutory caseload, including Child Protection plans, Looked After Children (LAC), and transition planning for young people aged 16-18.
- Care & Transition Planning: Develop and implement outcome-focused care plans in close partnership with young people, families, and kinship carers.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work effectively with NHS Borders, Police Scotland, education providers, and third-sector agencies to provide robust, multi-disciplinary support.
- Statutory Compliance: Produce high-quality, analytical reports and represent the service at Children's Hearings and Sheriff Court proceedings.
- Registration: Active registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or eligibility to switch from Social Work England.
- Vetting: Valid membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
- Education: Recognised professional Social Work qualification (BA Hons, DipSW, MSc, or equivalent).
- Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Children & Families social work and Child Protection.
- Logistics: Valid UK driving license and access to a car is preferred for rural community visits.
