About the Role
Are you a dedicated and resilient social work professional looking to make a tangible difference in your community? Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is currently seeking a highly motivated Social Worker to join our fast-paced Intake and Assessment Team. In this critical frontline role, you will be the first point of contact for vulnerable individuals and families, ensuring they receive the timely support, evaluation, and safeguarding they need.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial Assessments: Undertake comprehensive and timely assessments and investigations for individuals and families coming into the service.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond effectively to urgent safeguarding concerns, delivering high-quality, outcome-focused interventions.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with health professionals, police, education, and other key partners to formulate robust care and safety plans.
- Report Writing: Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and produce detailed reports for case conferences and court proceedings.
- Empathetic Engagement: Utilize strong communication skills to build trust and navigate challenging or sensitive situations with empathy and compassion.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: A recognized Social Work Qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration: Active and current registration with Social Care Wales.
- Experience: Proven experience working within an Intake, Assessment, or frontline child/adult services team is highly desirable.
- Checks: An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and 3 years of verifiable referencing.
- Mobility: A full driving license with access to a vehicle to travel across the Rhondda Cynon Taf borough.
- Language: Welsh-speaking skills are welcomed and supported, though not essential.
