Children's Residential Worker
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Ad-hoc
Pay Rates (PAYE, rolled up holiday pay):
- Day Shifts: £15.78 per hour
- Night Shifts: £16.63 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Children's Residential Workers to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people in residential care, supporting their emotional, educational, and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Care & Support: Provide person-centered care and physical/emotional support to children and young people tailored to their individual care plans.
- Creating a Safe Environment: Maintain a clean, secure, and welcoming home environment that encourages positive behaviors and independence.
- Activity & Routine Planning: Assist young people with day-to-day routines, school attendance, life-skills building, and engaging social activities.
- De-escalation & Emotional Support: Support children through challenging emotions or behaviors using positive behavior management and approved techniques.
- Record Keeping: Complete daily handovers, incident reports, and care plan documentation accurately and confidentially.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively alongside home managers, social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure best outcomes for each child.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience working directly with young people in a care or support environment.
- A passion for supporting vulnerable young people and making a genuine difference.
- Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
- Minimum of 6 months previous experience working in a UK children's residential setting.
