In this role, you will be providing essential emotional and practical support to children and young people who may have faced significant challenges and trauma. Your goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where they can thrive.
Competitive Pay: £15.35 - £17.50 per hour (depending on experience and shift type).
Locations available: Carlisle, Wigton, Longtown

Long Days: Ideal for those who prefer to complete their hours in fewer blocks.
Days with Sleep-ins: Providing continuity of care through the evening and night.
Waking Nights: For the night owls who excel at providing a calm, safe presence during the late hours.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Building positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people.
- Assisting with daily routines, including education, hobbies, and life skills.
- Managing challenging behaviors with empathy and de-escalation techniques.
- Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and care are met at all times.
- Maintaining accurate daily logs and reports.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience in a residential childcare or a similar support setting is essential
- Resilience: An empathetic nature with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with both children and professional teams.
- Compliance: You must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or have one on the update service) and provide full employment references.
