        Have you got experience working with children or working with adults with additional needs?Do you want to take on a new and exciting challenge working with Special Education Needs (SEN) pupils?We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to support pupils between the ages of 11 - 19 in a high school and college in Salford. The pupils have severe learning difficulties (SLD) or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). A number also manage challenging behaviouraldifficulties.The School works with many specialists to aid the learning of their students, including:- A physiotherapist- An occupational therapist- Speech & language therapists- Social workers- An educational psychologist- Advisory teachers for visual impairment and hearing impairmentsThe schools aims include:- To ensure that all our pupils' educational needs are met- To ensure that pupils are able to join in with all the activities of the school- To ensure that all pupils make the best possible progress- To ensure parents/carers are informed of their child's special needs and that there iseffective communication between parents/carers and school- To ensure that pupils are able to express their views and are fully involved in decisions which affect their education- To promote effective partnerships and involve outside agencies when appropriateThere are many benefits of the role, including:- Working in a school rated Outstanding by Ofsted- The opportunity to work in a school with fantastic facilities to aid learning- Working in a school with pupils who are eager to learn - Working alongside a staff team who will improve your skills and knowledge within the SEN sectorThe responsibilities of the role include: Working alongside the teacher to plan engaging lesson plans Delivering one-to-one help or working in small groups with pupils Preparing for lessons (e.g. gathering equipment and setting up the classroom) Helping pupils with their additional care needs (e.g. toileting and feeding)The requirements for the role are: - A DBS on the update service - Experience working with children or working with adults with additional care needs - A dedication to helping improve the learning of pupils - Being a caring and resilient individualThe successful candidate will work in a brilliant high school and college with a caring, happy and progressive learning community in which each person is valued equally and respected unconditionally.The school community promotes high expectations for each person and supports every member of the school community in achieving their potential as life-long learners.If this sounds like the job for you and you are interested in applying for the role, please contact Laura atlaura.vickers@randstad.co.uk
