We are looking for someone who has experience within a corporate and manufacturing environment and is willing to support the company through this period of growth.You will be responsible for developing the quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for the client.Strategy & DevelopmentHelp to specify and develop the Quality Management System and processesContribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact of Quality Management SystemsCreate Work Procedures, Material Approval Forms, Quality Record Templates, End of Manufacturing / Construction Status ReportsProvide guidance and review / comment on the preparation of deliverables such as Quality Plans, Method Statements, Inspection & Test PlansIdentify, plan and conduct surveillance checks and audits to verify that management system and work processes are being properly performed, that the processes are delivering their intended outputs, and that evidence to demonstrate this is retained. Auditing will include supplier assessment auditsEnsure non-conformances in products and processes are properly managed, cause is properly identified, corrective and preventive actions are properly defined and implementedCommunicate directly with external customers to understand their product quality control requirements and ensure they are adhering to these processesAn example of your day-to-day tasks include:Implementation of all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management SystemEnsure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodiesReport on the performance of the management system, on opportunities for improvement, and on the need for change or innovationEnsure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and auditsClearly build and communicate testing plans and follow them all the way to productionIdentify and document testing risks in a project and mitigate them with the teamIntervene when the quality of works is at risk or has been affected and escalate to senior management level as appropriate to ensure proper resolutionReview, implement and update company recordsIntroduce new Quality Control systems and procedures where appropriateTrain others in all aspects of the quality system and application of proceduresProduce written reports to identify business improvement opportunities within the organisationDevelop, implement and manage KPI's for each area of responsibilityConsistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the teamThe successful candidate will have:Previous experience of Quality Control and Assurance within a Manufacturing environment - 5 years experienceStrong knowledge and practical understanding of International Quality Standards and methods: ISO9001, ISO14001, Six Sigma, etcKnowledge and application of quality tools such as 8D, PFMEA, RCCA would be advantageousExperience working with various departments within the company, in particular with manufacturing, R&D and SalesExperience in liaising with various stakeholders of varying seniority levels (internal and external)Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualificationsThe salary is £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience.
