      Material Planner required on a 12 month contract basis to join an industry leading manufacturing business.Do you have a background strategically controlling and expediting the flow of materials and components? Have you got experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing / production / assembly environment? If you are seeking an exciting challenge then this is the role for you!You will be responsible for the planning and expediting material for a designated group of suppliers to ensure the right material arrives at the point of fit at the right time, whilst ensuring that inventory levels are kept to a minimum in line with set targets. This role is currently 100% remote, the role will transition into a combination of remote working and working on site.Candidates will need to be from within commuting distance of the Peterborough site.Key responsibilities:Develop planning system strategies to improve signals across the supply chain Monitor and adjust parameters in the planning system.Use common processes tools, and information systems.Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators to identify areas for improvement and action plans.Execute the daily operational planning process within a specified functional area.Identify potential supply chain failures as part of the planning process and mitigate associated risksWork closely with stakeholders - internal and/or external to develop short term tactical improvements.Use the planning system to drive consistent planning signals across the supply chain Participate in functional process improvement teamsExperience required:Proven experience in a material control role.Good understanding of MRP and other planning systems.Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.Global perspective - Taking a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens.This is an awesome opportunity to be part of a leading manufacturing business which offers an interesting, varied and exciting workload coupled with a motivated and passionate culture.
