As a minimum you will have a City and Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, and have further appropriate vocational training and experience. Preferably you will have an ONC in Elec/Electronics and have completed a relevant structured vocation training programme or apprenticeship. Job holder's skills and personalityYou must be capable of working from drawings and technical documents. Most of the work is small volume or one-off production and you will be expected to do a neat and accurate job, with right first-time completion to an acceptable timescale.You will be part of a small team of energetic people, so the ability to work and mix with others is important, but you must also be resourceful and self-reliant.The work involves a certain amount of manual handling and manipulation of the assemblies. Working under the direction of the Senior Engineer you will be responsible for the execution of engineering experiments and validation activities within a multi discipline engineering team. The Role: Build and test experimental and production ready sub-assemblies and build complete electro / mechanical systems in accordance to design specifications.To develop and participate creating testing strategies within the project.To support the introduction of new products onto the factory flow line.To ensure engineering changes are concluded in accordance with the planned schedule.Data Analysis - to analyse experimental data, summarise and document conclusions in report format. Qualifications and Experience: A good mechanically biased engineering degree (or other relevant engineering qualification).Electrical and pneumatic experience and ability to work on electro/mechanical systems safely.Experience in product development, manufacturing or technical service is an advantage.This is a very practical and 'hands on' role requiring use of hand tools, power tools or complex test equipment.An understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and system schematics.Randstad Technologies is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
