Counsellor Pre Treatment AddictionWe are looking for a Pre Treatment Gambling Addiction Therapist to work as part of a team providing therapeutic assessment to service users approaching the charity to access support for gambling related harm.Position: Pre Treatment Gambling Addiction TherapistLocation: RemoteSalary: £27,000- £32,000Hours: Full time, 35 hours per weekContract: PermanentBenefits: 28 days' annual leave, 6% pension contribution, occupational sick pay, eye care vouchersClosing Date: 6th June 2022About the RoleAs Pre Treatment Gambling Addiction Therapist, you will assist in providing a pre-treatment wrap-around service ensuring potential service users will have access to the right help they require in order to access the right support for them and overcome any barriers in doing so. You will support in the engagement of clients, manage their assessments and provision of support in order to ensure they are held appropriately on their journey into treatment. You will play a significant role in assessing and coordinating service users applying to use the services.Key responsibilities include:Arrange and complete comprehensive assessment for service usersInform applicants of the outcome of their applicationsSignpost and refer applicants to other suitable treatment provisionsObtain further information if needed from other sourcesEnsure prompt identification and management of risks, incidents, safeguarding, and delivery of quality interventionsKeep up to date records of our waiting list and prioritise clients for treatment.Provide therapeutic support and advise Gordon Moody service users as required.To support the continuous review and develop of the pre-treatment wrap-around programmes through evaluation, continuous improvement, and development of projects as necessaryTo proactively support the work of the organisation with external stakeholders and act as a Gordon Moody ambassadorAbout You As Pre Treatment Gambling Addiction Therapist, you will have a qualification and/or training in a relevant discipline (Healthcare/Social Work/Psychology/Psychotherapy or Counselling.You will have:CBT and/or Motivational Interviewing training and/or relevant qualificationExperience and/or training in supporting, people living with addiction/mental health issuesExperience of planning and facilitating structured work with vulnerable and challenging groupsExperience of working in a therapeutic environment/service, ideally with addictionAbility to comprehensively assess risk and need and manage complex caseExperience of safeguarding vulnerable clients and/or affected othersExperience of using CRM systems Intermediate level MS Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint Case management experience with an understanding and application of risk, incident and safeguarding processesKnowledge and understanding of the issues presented and treatment of addiction and mental health issues.Although not essential knowledge of the effects of problem gambling, experience of delivering therapeutic support and of working in a recovery service would be highly beneficial, as would a counselling / Addiction qualification.About the OrganisationThis registered charity has nearly 50 years' experience in providing residential support and treatment for people who are severely addicted to gambling.
