This means supporting our Social Workers to develop excellent assessment and analytical skills, apply evidence based interventions and direct work and develop the confidence and skills to make timely decisions and plans for children that will achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for their ;Responsibilities as our Social Worker will involve:Managing a workload in accordance with the requirements of the ASYEMaking pro-active use of supervision in accordance with the requirements of the ASYE in order to support development across the Professional Capabilities Framework, the Department of Education’s forthcoming Skills and Knowledge Statements and to meet the objectives of Performance Development ReviewsWorking in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers and, through building effective relationships, to elicit their needs and views and promote participation in decision makingCommunicating skillfully and confidently in complex or high risk situations, applying an understanding of the benefits and limitations of partnership workUndertaking assessments in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy, and procedures for the service. Anticipating, assessing and managing risk to children and young people in more complex situations and producing high quality assessmentsPlanning, implementing and reviewing a range of interventions for children, young people and families/carers in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy and procedures for the serviceMaintaining accurate, up to date records safely and confidentially in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures.
