        An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lawyer (Financial Services) to join our client, a leading Investment Bank based in LondonAbout the role:The General Counsel Division is currently looking for a talented individual to join our Brexit project team in London as part of the Global Markets Trading and Clearing Venues work stream. You will join a global community in a premium Swiss bank and you will become a part of the legal team focusing on the review of on-boarding legal documents including membership/participant agreements and rulebooks of EU and international trading venues and platforms, exchanges and central clearing counterparties and broker agreements in relation to various global markets businesses Key Responsibilities:- To be part of the legal team focusing on the review of broker agreements, on-boarding legal documents including membership/participant agreements and rulebooks of EU and international trading venues and platforms, exchanges and central clearing counterparties in relation to various global markets businesses. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks such as:Reviewing and highlighting material risks/issues of broker agreements on-boarding and membership agreements of trading venues/platforms, exchanges and central clearing counterparties;- Preparing summary review reports of broker agreement terms, new trading and clearing venues to facilitate an understanding by stakeholders of key terms that impact the Bank, in addition to relevant legal and commercial risks;- Supporting the on-going maintenance of various reviews prepared by the - General Counsel Division summarising key legal provisions of the rulebooks of trading venues/platforms, exchanges and central clearing counterparties;- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal agreements for a variety of global market products / businesses including cash equities, listed derivatives, cleared OTC derivatives and FX products on an ad hoc basis;- Termination of venues and broker agreements and drafting relevant notices.- Working on an independent basis as well as being part of a broader team;- Developing solid and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:- Qualified lawyer and/or other legal qualifications and/or legal experience;- Legal experience in a bank, financial institution, law firm, or corporation including regular phone and email interaction and negotiation with counterparties; - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively at various levels of seniority;- Ability to efficiently handle a number of matters and to prioritise in a commercial environment; - Ability to digest and assimilate complex information across various data sources;- Committed to ongoing learning and implementing new knowledge into practice.
