      There is an opportunity for experienced counsellors to become part of a multidisciplinary team to provide counselling sessions for university students in Keele. Supporting students with a variety of needs from normal to more complex needs. Working 1:1 certain issues such as transition, anxiety, self help, self-esteem, eating distress, procrastination and exam panic. Ability to emphasise with the students over their personal and emotional needs while Working alongside with the student to promote self help, using self help tools. Deliver follow up work outside of the practice, displaying caseload management, such as referrals to other teams within the university / other organisations, communicating with GP services. Working in a team using a multi-disciplinary approach consulting with other practitioners. Making risk assessments in line with service's crisis and risk assessment protocols Maintaining a confidentiality approach at all times when working with the students or discussing any information with any other members of staff. Sign-post individual's to the relevant member of the multidisciplinary team if for example the student will be covered by the Equality Act definition of disability, so the student can be assisted in applying for disability allowance. Contribute to the Counselling and Mental Health Support Team by actively participating in support allocations meetings, case discussion and meeting and training opportunities. Requirements Educated to postgraduate Diploma or Masters Level in counselling, psychotherapy or counselling psychology and hold an accredited professional body membershipAccredited Membership of the BACP or UKCP - or actively working towards such accreditation.A DBS to cover vulnerable adultsUndertake regular individual clinical supervision Keep up to date with developments in the post holders area of practice and contribute to improvements of operations in their section.
