Are you a passionate Science specialist looking for a teaching role that offers genuine flexibility, competitive pay, and strong work-life balance? Whether you are drawn to the full autonomy and variety of day-to-day supply cover or searching for the stability and connection of a long-term departmental placement, we have fantastic opportunities tailored directly to your schedule.
We are currently partnering with a welcoming network of secondary schools, academies, and high schools in King's Lynn and across the surrounding West Norfolk area. We are experiencing high demand for enthusiastic, reliable Science Teachers who can deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with Key Stage 5 opportunities available for candidates looking for A-Level teaching).
Whether you are an experienced Science Teacher seeking a better work-life balance, a specialist in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) eager to gain valuable experience across different school cultures, we can help you find your ideal role.
Choose Your Ideal Way of Working:
- Day-to-Day Cover: Enjoy total control over your diary. Simply select the specific days you wish to work to suit your lifestyle, family commitments, or personal projects. It is a brilliant way to teach your subject across different local secondary schools.
- Long-Term Opportunities: If you prefer consistency, we offer fixed-term placements spanning a term or a full academic year (covering maternity, sickness, or vacant posts). This allows you to integrate fully into a Science department, lead your own classes, conduct practical experiments, and guide students through their GCSEs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver stimulating, safe, and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), adhering to national curriculum standards.
- Encourage curiosity and critical thinking, helping students connect scientific concepts to real-world applications.
- Maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom and laboratory environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed during practical activities.
- Apply effective classroom management strategies in line with individual school policies.
- For long-term roles: take ownership of lesson planning, ongoing assessment, preparing students for GCSE exams, and contributing to departmental meetings.
What We Look For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent secondary teaching qualification specialising in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Strong subject knowledge across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science.
- Confident classroom management skills and the ability to inspire young minds in STEM.
- An adaptable, proactive mindset, ready to hit the ground running in different secondary environments.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
Benefits of Working With Us:
- Competitive rates of pay, processed weekly and reflective of your experience and specialist expertise.
- A dedicated local consultant with deep knowledge of the secondary education sector in King's Lynn and West Norfolk.
- A transparent service that works strictly around your declared availability.
- Excellent networking opportunities across local secondary schools, which frequently lead to direct, permanent contracts.
