Are you a passionate Physical Education Teacher who believes in the power of sport to transform lives, build confidence, and support emotional well-being? Whether you thrive on the complete flexibility of day-to-day supply or prefer the deep impact of a long-term placement, we have rewarding opportunities tailored to your lifestyle.
We are currently partnering with specialised SEN schools, alternative provisions, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) academies in Peterborough and the surrounding Cambridgeshire borders. We are seeking resilient, energetic, and empathetic P.E. Teachers who can use physical activity as a powerful tool for engagement, teamwork, and emotional regulation.
Whether you are an experienced specialist looking to transition from mainstream schools to a dedicated SEN environment, or a seasoned SEMH practitioner looking for a flexible schedule, we want to hear from you.
Find Your Ideal Way of Working:
Day-to-Day Cover: Take complete control of your schedule. Choose exactly which days you want to work to perfectly fit around your personal commitments, coaching schedules, or lifestyle. It is a fantastic way to experience different specialised settings.
Long-Term Opportunities: If you prefer stability, we have fixed-term roles spanning a term or a full academic year. This is the perfect way to truly embed yourself within a school team, develop consistent sports and outdoor learning programs, and build deep, trusting relationships with pupils who benefit most from continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
Engaging Lesson Delivery: Deliver active, inclusive, and highly engaging P.E. and outdoor education lessons tailored to the diverse emotional, behavioural, and physical needs of pupils with SEMH pathways.
Therapeutic Approach: Use sport, fitness, and team-building exercises to help pupils develop self-esteem, teamwork, resilience, and positive emotional regulation.
Positive Behaviour Management: Utilise trauma-informed practices and positive de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
Collaborate and Lead: Guide and work alongside dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants in your lessons to ensure all students are safely supported and actively participating.
What We Look For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent P.E. teaching qualifications. (Instructors with extensive, proven SEMH sports coaching experience are also encouraged to apply).
Proven experience supporting young people with SEMH, ADHD, Autism (ASC), or challenging behaviours.
A warm, highly resilient, and patient personality with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build quick, authentic rapport with students who may have experienced barriers to traditional education.
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one immediately).
Benefits of Working With Us:
Competitive daily rates of pay, processed weekly and reflective of your experience level.
A dedicated local consultant with deep knowledge of the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire SEND education sectors.
A completely transparent service that works strictly around your declared availability.
Access to fully funded CPD training modules, including statutory safeguarding updates and specialist behaviour management advice.
