We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive educational team for the upcoming academic year. In this role, you will provide vital academic, emotional, and social support to students with SEN and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Your Role- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Help manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting the emotional well-being of all students.
- Monitor and report on student progress, collaborating closely with teaching staff.
- 3-6 months of experience working in a school setting or supporting individuals with SEN/SEMH needs. Highly transferable skills from care, youth work, or similar backgrounds will be considered.
- Must be a licensed driver with access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location and limited public transport links.
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Must have the permanent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
- Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Salary: £88 - £97 per day.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 AM - 03:55 PM, term time only.
- Contract Type: Temporary, with the potential for permanent placement after a successful probation period.
