We are seeking a dedicated, full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to deliver essential academic, emotional, and social support to students with social, emotional and mental health needs, empowering them to actively access the curriculum and thrive throughout their educational journey.
We operate a strict no-sponsorship policy; all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Help manage classroom behaviour gently and effectively, promoting emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report on student progress, collaborating closely with teaching staff.
Essentials
- 3-6 months of experience working in a school setting or supporting individuals with SEN/SEMH needs. Highly transferable skills from care, youth work, or similar backgrounds will also be considered.
- Must be available for full-time hours for the entire academic year starting in September.
- Must be a licensed driver with access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location and limited public transport links.
