About the Role
As an SEN EYFS Teacher, you will lead a small, structured classroom of early years pupils. Your day-to-day focus will be on delivering early developmental milestones through creative, sensory-rich play and structured interventions. You will work closely with a supportive team of teaching assistants to ensure that individual education plans (IEPs) are met and that children feel safe, valued, and motivated to explore the world around them.
Skills Required
Adaptability & Creativity: The ability to design and adapt a play-based EYFS curriculum to suit pupils with complex and diverse learning profiles.
Communication Strategies: Experience using alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to support non-verbal or pre-verbal learners.
Positive Behaviour Management: A calm, nurturing, and patient approach, with experience in positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, parents, and multidisciplinary therapy teams.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
Previous experience teaching within an SEN setting or working extensively with early years pupils with complex needs.
Full eligibility to work in the UK (please note, visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Randstad.
