About the Role
In this full-time role, you will take lead of a small class of pupils working within the EYFS and Key Stage 1 developmental frameworks. Your primary focus will be on delivering creative, hands-on lessons that seamlessly blend play-based exploration with targeted academic and personal interventions. Leading a dedicated team of teaching assistants, you will ensure a consistent, structured routine that reduces frustration and helps young learners build their confidence and independence.
Skills Required
Curriculum Adaptation: The ability to differentiate the EYFS and KS1 curriculum into highly accessible, small-step learning paths for pupils with complex needs.
Communication Support: Experience utilising inclusive communication strategies, including Makaton, PECS, and object/visual schedules.
Classroom Leadership: Proven skills in managing a small class team of support staff to deliver structured, cohesive, and safe interventions.
Nurturing Approach: A patient, empathetic nature capable of decoding communication behaviours and providing positive emotional regulation support.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN) within the UK.
Full eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Randstad.
