Salary: £32,916 to £45,352 per annum (M1 - M6 scale, depending on experience)
Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire (Commutable from Leicester, Coventry, Nuneaton, and Rugby)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Term-Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week
Are you a passionate teacher looking to escape the rigid constraints of the mainstream classroom?
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and committed SEN Teacher specialising in Maths & Science to join an innovative, forward-thinking alternative education provider in Hinckley.
If you believe that education should be holistic, personalised, and relationship-driven rather than data-obsessed, this is the environment where you can truly thrive. We strip away the red tape so you can focus on what matters most: inspiring, supporting, and transforming young lives.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will leave behind 30+ student lecture halls. Instead, you will work with vulnerable and neurodivergent learners aged 7-19 in small groups or on a highly rewarding 1:1 basis.
Delivering an engaging, flexible Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum, you will co-design innovative, multi-sensory learning experiences tailored to each child's unique interests, needs, and pacing. Your primary focus will be rebuilding academic confidence, improving engagement, and helping young people progress socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Personalised Teaching: Plan, deliver, and review tailored learning programmes and schemes of work that cater to diverse learning styles.
Holistic Progress: Track and report on student development, contributing vital insights to learner profiles and EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) reviews.
Student Advocacy: Act as a champion for your learners, involving them actively in decisions about their own education.
Curriculum Innovation: Collaborate with Site Leads to develop exciting, hands-on Maths and Science curricula that make abstract concepts tangible.
What We Are Looking For:
We welcome applications from experienced SEN specialists, as well as mainstream teachers with strong differentiation skills looking to transition into a more rewarding SEN sector.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
A relevant Level 6 qualification (Degree or equivalent).
Confident capability to teach both Maths and Science at KS3/KS4 (or a strong background in one, with an eager willingness to develop in the other).
A reflective, relationship-first approach to behaviour management and engagement.
Prior experience working within an SEN, ASC, or SEMH environment is highly desirable, but a genuine passion for learner-centred practice is paramount.
Why Join Us?
True Autonomy: The freedom to be creative and flexible with your lesson delivery-no two days are the same.
Manageable Workload: Small group sizes mean significantly less marking and a much healthier work-life balance.
Professional Growth: Dedicated support for your continuous professional development (CPD) and SEN specialisation.
A Supportive Culture: Join a deeply collaborative, positive team that genuinely celebrates the small victories.
