Salary: M1 to M6 (Scale dependent)
Position: Permanent, Full-Time (40 Hours)
Location: Alternative Provision, Nottingham
Perfect For: ECTs, Mainstream Teachers looking to transition to SEN, or Passionate Educators ready for a supportive change.
Are you a teacher who believes education should be about potential, not just past mistakes? Do you want to work in a setting where you are given the time, support, and resources to actually focus on student wellbeing and progress?
An exceptional Alternative Provision City Hub in Nottingham is looking for its next passionate, resilient, and creative teacher. If you have the right mindset, we don't require a lifetime of SEN experience-we will give you the tools and mentorship to thrive.
Why This is the Ideal Environment to Grow Your Skills
Stepping into Alternative Provision can feel daunting, but our structured, supportive environment makes it the perfect place to hone your craft. You will escape the pressure of massive classrooms and focus on high-impact, relational teaching.
Learn the Power of Micro-Classes: Teach small groups of just 3-6 learners. It is the perfect environment to master differentiation and see the immediate impact of your lesson planning.
Built-In Classroom Support: Work hand-in-hand with skilled Teaching Assistants who manage targeted 1:1 interventions and support your group under your guidance.
Develop In-Demand Specialists Skills: Become an expert in relational and restorative behaviour strategies-skills that will elevate your teaching career forever.
Broad, Creative Curriculum: While a knack for KS3/KS4 Maths or Functional Skills is highly advantageous, we welcome your personal passions and hobbies to help make learning rich and flexible.
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like
Holistic Teaching: Deliver engaging lessons that blend academic success with personal development and life-skills learning.
Goal Setting: Use baseline assessments to set ambitious, highly personalised targets for your students.
Restorative Practices: Swap rigid punishments for relational, restorative approaches that build trust and re-engage young people who have been let down by mainstream systems.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside specialised staff, families, and external agencies to help guide students toward their next steps or reintegration pathways.
Who We Are Looking For
Qualifications: QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification (ECTs are warmly welcomed to apply!).
Subject Strengths: Ability to deliver a specialist subject (Maths is a huge bonus) while contributing to wider curriculum areas.
The Right Attitude: You are reflective, open to feedback, and committed to professional development. Your mindset and empathy matter far more than your years on a CV.
Logistics: You must hold a valid driving license due to the nature of the role.
Why You'll Love Joining This Team
"If you want to work somewhere where your ideas are genuinely valued, your personal wellbeing is prioritised, and you can see the direct impact of your care every single day-this is the team for you."
Ready to Begin Your Next Chapter?
Don't worry if you haven't worked in alternative provision before. If you have the passion, we have the support framework to help you succeed.
