The Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Temporary SEN Teacher to join our team in West Sussex. Our specialist school supports pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in managing complex learning requirements and make a positive impact on vulnerable young people within a highly supportive, structured environment.
The Role
As a Temporary SEN Teacher, you will take full ownership of your classroom's success. Your core responsibilities will include:
Tailored Delivery: Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the specific learning and developmental needs of a small class group.
Classroom Leadership: Taking full responsibility for your class, ensuring all pupils are engaged, safe, and making progress during your tenure.
Inclusive Strategies: Implementing effective sensory and behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Collaborative Management: Working closely with and directing a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants to maximise individual pupil support.
Progress Tracking: Ensuring accurate recording and reporting of pupil progress, achievements, and well-being.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a professional who can adapt quickly to a new environment. We require:
Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Experience: Demonstrable experience in teaching pupils with SEN (Essential).
Commitment: Ability to commit to the full duration of the temporary contract once confirmed.
Adaptability: Highly skilled at tailoring the curriculum to meet diverse learning styles and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Personal Attributes: Resilient, reliable, and proactive in managing a specialist classroom with confidence.
