Can you confidently design and deliver a creative, adapted cross-curricular timetable that engages unique minds and fosters maximum independence?
If you are looking for a full responsibility role in the Linton area that offers competitive pay and the chance to lead a dedicated team, Randstad Education wants to hear from you.
We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Qualified SEND Teacher (QTS) for a full-time, long-term placement at our partner SEN School in Linton. - EHCP Target Ownership: Interweave individual targets from each student's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) directly into daily lessons, keeping meticulous records of academic and personal progress.
- Classroom Team Management: Provide clear direction, leadership, and inspiration to your team of classroom Teaching Assistants, ensuring a cohesive and safe approach to learning and behaviour support.
- Adaptive Communication: Seamlessly embed functional communication strategies-including Makaton, visual aids, and high- or low-tech AAC devices-into your teaching delivery to empower all learners.
- Holistic Assessment: Implement specialised small-step tracking frameworks to measure, record, and report on pupil progress, celebrating micro-milestones and adapting your pedagogy as needed.
- Multidisciplinary Liaison: Lead internal reviews and collaborate closely with onsite and external professionals, including Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and parents.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A strong background in leading classrooms within a special school, alternative provision, or specialised secondary unit.
- Adaptive Pedagogy Expertise: Extensive experience in modifying a standard curriculum to meet complex learning and physical access needs, alongside a deep understanding of positive behaviour support.
- Emotional Resilience: A calm, grounded, and patient demeanour, with the proven ability to lead a room confidently during periods of student anxiety or behavioural dysregulation.
- Strong Leadership Skills: The professional confidence to manage classroom support staff effectively and foster a collaborative, high-performing classroom environment.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
