Are you a dedicated, empathetic Qualified Teacher looking for a career that prioritises your work-life balance while still allowing you to make a profound difference? Whether you are looking for the absolute freedom and variety of day-to-day supply cover, or you prefer the rewarding stability of a long-term specialised classroom placement, we have incredible opportunities tailored exactly to your schedule.
We are currently partnering with an established portfolio of specialised SEN schools, academy trusts, and alternative provisions throughout Peterborough and the surrounding Cambridgeshire borders. We are experiencing a high demand for adaptable, empathetic, and dedicated educators who excel at tailoring learning frameworks for pupils with diverse and complex needs (including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate-to-severe learning difficulties).
Whether you are an experienced SEN specialist looking to step away from the heavy administrative burdens of full-time mainstream teaching, or a passionate primary/secondary teacher eager to transition your skills into a dedicated specialist environment, we can help you find your perfect balance.
Choose Your Ideal Way of Working:
Day-to-Day Cover: Take complete control of your schedule. Choose exactly which days you want to work to perfectly fit around your personal commitments, studies, or lifestyle. It is a fantastic way to experience different specialised settings.
Long-Term Opportunities: If you prefer stability, we have fixed-term roles spanning a term or a full academic year. This is the perfect way to truly embed yourself within a local specialist team, lead a dedicated class group, design individualised sensory learning pathways, and see your pupils make meaningful developmental progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Tailored Lesson Delivery: Plan, adapt, and deliver highly engaging, sensory-friendly lessons that cater to a wide range of cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities.
EHCP Implementation: Work closely alongside individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure every student's academic, social, and emotional targets are met.
Classroom Collaboration: Lead, guide, and collaborate effectively with a dedicated team of SEN Teaching Assistants within your classroom to maintain a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
Positive Behaviour Support: Utilise trauma-informed practices, positive de-escalation strategies, and alternative communication tools (e.g., visual timetables, PECS, Makaton) to encourage active pupil engagement.
What We Look For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching or supporting children with special educational needs (highly advantageous, though mainstream teachers with a strong interest in SEN are encouraged to apply).
A patient, warm, and highly resilient approach to classroom and behaviour management.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build quick, authentic rapport with vulnerable young learners.
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one immediately).
Benefits of Working With Us:
Competitive daily rates of pay, processed weekly and reflective of your teaching experience.
A dedicated local consultant with deep, specialist knowledge of the Peterborough and Cambridgeshire SEND education sectors.
A completely transparent service that works strictly around your declared availability.
Access to fully funded CPD training modules, including statutory safeguarding updates and specialist SEN resources.
