Candidate Requirements
While prior experience is valued, the school welcomes applications from dedicated individuals with practical, transferable care or personal SEN backgrounds:
- Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English at pass grade (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
- Eligibility: Right to work in the UK is essential.
- Experience (Desirable): Previous experience in care, childcare, education, or personal/professional experience with SEN.
- Skills: Confidence in supporting group activities across different educational subjects and an ability to use personal interests to engage learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting complex SEN learners on a 1:1 and small group basis throughout the day.
- Enabling students to access the curriculum while supporting their pastoral and emotional needs.
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom prep, and maintaining a smooth learning environment.
- Supervising pupils during break times and lunchtimes to promote social interaction.
