Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or SEMH Support Worker seeking a meaningful, long-term position? Randstad Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated professional to join a high-performing Alternative Provision in Bodmin. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential academic and emotional support to vulnerable learners, helping them navigate their educational journey in a trauma-informed environment.
Responsibilities- Implement effective de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Provide bespoke 1:1 and small-group mentoring to build pupil resilience and raise self-esteem.
- Assist with off-site educational and vocational activities, requiring a full UK driving license for community-based learning.
- Collaborate with a multi-agency team, including teachers, SENCOs, and educational psychologists, to monitor progress and adapt EHCP targets.
- Demonstrated experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviours, or autism (ASD).
- A full, valid UK driving license with access to a reliable vehicle.
- Relevant certifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or Team Teach training are highly desirable.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and possession of an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- A competitive daily rate of £92.56 - £95.00.
- Stable, full-time term-time hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30.
