In this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will support students individually or within small classroom settings.
Applying positive reinforcement along with behavioural teaching methods, you will create and implement personalised learning sessions to foster academic progress, strengthen social abilities, and empower pupils to achieve their highest potential.
Working Hours: Mon, Wed, Thu (8:45am - 4:45pm) | Tue (8:45am - 5:30pm) | Fri (8:45am - 4:30pm) 36.75 hours per week (Full-time). Part-time options available (minimum 3 days/week, must include Tuesdays and Fridays).
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lessons that foster students' emotional and social growth while promoting high academic achievement.
- Apply structured strategies to sustain a peaceful atmosphere and support student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to assist pupils with everyday needs, personal care, recreational time, and off-site educational visits.
- Advance your professional skills through ongoing training opportunities and fully funded qualification courses.
You Must Have…
- Background in supporting children or individuals with autism or other disabilities within comparable environments.
- Strong resilience and adaptability when working alongside autistic learners with diverse support requirements in a dynamic setting.
- A proactive, dedicated approach with a strong commitment to student development.
- Full right to work within the United Kingdom, no sponsorship.
- Access to personal transport, given the remote setting of the school.
- Successful applicants must complete an enhanced DBS check and put it on the update service (child and adult workforce).
Ideally You Will Have…
- Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths. An Early Years qualification is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
