This specialist autism school is part of a wider education and care group and supports children and young people aged 7-19 with high-functioning autism and associated learning needs, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school is Autism Accredited by The National Autistic Society and is committed to delivering high-quality, specialist provision that promotes positive outcomes for every learner. With a strong focus on personalised learning, behaviour support and emotional wellbeing, pupils are encouraged to develop independence, communication skills and confidence in a calm and structured setting.
Position Details:
* Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
* Salary: £22,000 - £23,500 per annum
* Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:15am - 4:30pm
* Supporting primary and secondary SEN learners (ages 7-19)
* Autism specialist setting (purpose-built environment)
* This opportunity begins with a 12-week temporary placement before transferring into the school's permanent staff team
About the Role:
* Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Assisting with structured learning across a broad curriculum
* Supporting communication, emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
* Helping pupils develop independence, confidence and life skills
* Working closely with teachers, therapists and senior leaders
* Contributing to a safe, consistent and engaging learning environment
