Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Youth Support Worker seeking a meaningful, long-term opportunity in Bodmin? This position offers a unique balance between traditional classroom support and community-based education.
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to foster confidence and academic stability.
- Facilitate community-based learning by accompanying students on educational visits and life-skills projects.
- Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring aligned with individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
- Employ positive reinforcement and professional de-escalation strategies to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
- Collaborate closely with educational specialists to monitor and document student progress.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Youth Worker.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting students with SEN, SEMH, ASD, or disaffected behaviours.
- Capacity to work full-time hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday).
- Current Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
