Job Location: Wirral (Birkenhead, Wallasey, Bebington, Heswall)
Salary / Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour (Paid weekly via PAYE)
Start Date: Immediate or September Start
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated SEND TA to assist with the daily academic, social, and emotional support of children with additional needs in local primary and specialist settings. Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will help break down learning barriers for pupils with conditions such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, and sensory processing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing tailored academic and emotional support to small groups or individual pupils with SEND.
Assisting the class teacher with implementing specific strategies outlined in pupils' EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
Creating a comforting, low-stimulus learning environment to help pupils regulate their emotions.
Helping monitor pupil progress and feeding back observations to the class teacher and SENCO.
Requirements:
Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or substantial, proven experience supporting special educational needs.
Prior experience working with children or young adults with SEND (school, residential care, or youth work backgrounds welcome).
A calm, patient demeanor with exceptional active-listening and communication skills.
