We're currently seeking a dedicated, long-term Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Primary school in Rochdale. In this deeply rewarding role, you will provide consistent, crucial 1:1 or small group stability for children with diverse needs (such as ASD, ADHD, Speech & Language challenges, or SEMH), ensuring they feel supported every single day.
You will be responsible for creating an inclusive, uplifting, and safe learning environment tailored to individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets, while continuing your own specialized development.
This is a full-time position for 5 days per week. Working hours would be from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities:
Providing tailored 1:1 or small group interventions, breaking down the national curriculum to suit specific learning paces.
Helping teachers plan sensory or adaptive activities and logging detailed individual records.
Supporting teachers in managing complex or challenging behaviors with patience, calm, and de-escalation techniques.
Requirements:
Mandatory: Minimum 3-6 months of dedicated classroom-based or childcare SEND experience.
An enhanced DBS on the update service.
Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available with this role).
Exceptional communication, empathy, patience, and emotional discipline.
Be committed to achieving high standards of inclusion and learning for all.
Be willing to be fully involved in the supportive community of the school.
