SEND Teaching Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join a specialist education team supporting students with complex learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering personalised learning activities and lessons
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs
- Assist students with communication, emotional regulation, and independence skills
- Support classroom learning, practical activities, and community-based learning
- Help students during educational visits, work experience placements, and life skills activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and wellbeing in line with school policies
- Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources
- Monitor and record student progress under teacher guidance
- Support students with personal care where required
- Supervise students during lessons, breaktimes, dining, and offsite activities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, care staff, and families
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Attend training, meetings, and professional development sessions
- Assist with general administrative duties including photocopying and display preparation
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour support procedures at all times
