This South West Service supports over 48 autistic adults across several welcoming locations to live fulfilling, independent lives. Care is tailored to each person's needs, covering Housing Support, residential care, and transitional assessment services.
You'll be joining a warm, dedicated team that's passionate about making a real difference and always looking for ways to grow and improve.
The RoleReporting directly to the Service Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated Autism Practitioners to ensure the high-quality delivery of tailored, outcome-based support.
This position involves active involvement in service planning, recruitment, and delivery. You will provide the coaching and mentorship required to ensure the team performs at its best, demonstrates best practice, and promotes robust safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Delivery: Manage and deliver consistent, high-quality support following outcome-based plans.
- Leadership & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and guide Autism Practitioners to support their professional growth.
- Partnership & Communication: Collaborate closely with families, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams using outstanding communication skills.
- Recruitment & Growth: Actively participate in the recruitment process to identify talented individuals to strengthen the team.
- Systems & Governance: Maintain accurate digital records using online recording systems, ensuring full compliance with SSSC Codes of Practice, Care Inspectorate guidance, and organizational policies.
- Quality & Safeguarding: Uphold safety processes and drive continuous service improvement.
- Reflective Practice: Participate in and lead regular reviews, team meetings, and individualised learning pathways.
- Operational Flexibility: Share responsibility for the regular on-call rota and work flexibly across a variety of shifts.

Skills & Attributes

- Sound IT literacy, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and digital recording systems.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Proven track record supporting autistic individuals, alongside supervisory or management experience within social care.
- Coaching: Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues.
- Qualifications: A relevant Health & Social Care qualification OR the willingness to work towards an SVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management for Care Services (LMC) - fully funded by the employer.
- Licence: A valid, full UK Driving Licence.
- Registration: PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration (or commitment to register within 6 months of starting).
