Birmingham Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dedicated Assessment Team. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a social worker with expertise in conducting thorough and timely assessments of children and families.

Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying needs and risks.

Develop and implement effective initial care plans, ensuring children's safety and well-being.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners (health, education, police) to coordinate responses and resources.
Supervise and mentor junior social workers, providing guidance and support in assessment practice.
Manage a complex caseload, prioritizing urgent cases and adhering to statutory timescales.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and policy development within the team.
Requirements:
Registered with Social Care England.
Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience in child and family assessment is essential. Experience in a supervisory or senior role is highly desirable.
Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies relating to children's social care.
Ability to build rapport and trust with children, families, and other professionals.
Commitment to person-centered practice and ethical standards.
