Leicester City Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our highly supportive Children in Need (CIN) Team. We are looking for a confident practitioner who can hit the ground running, manage a varied and complex caseload, and help drive positive outcomes for children and families across the city.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Complex Casework: Hold and manage a varied caseload of complex Children in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases from point of allocation through to closure or step-down.
- High-Quality Assessments: Conduct robust, analytical, and timely risk and needs assessments to formulate effective care plans.
- Court Proceedings: Lead on care proceedings, including writing high-quality court statements, giving evidence in the family court, and working closely with legal teams.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with police, health professionals, schools, and other partner agencies to ensure holistic safeguarding of vulnerable children.
- Peer Support: Act as a role model and point of guidance for newly qualified and less experienced social workers within the team.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: A recognized degree in Social Work (BA/MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW).
- Registration: Active and unrestricted registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Experience: At least 3+ years of post-qualifying experience in statutory frontline children's services, with a strong background in CP and CIN.
- Court Experience: Proven experience in completing Section 47 enquiries and managing court work.
- Compliance: An Enhanced DBS (on the update service preferred) and Right to Work in the UK.
- Transport: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
