Leicestershire County Council is seeking a skilled Senior Social Worker to join their First Response Assessment Team based in Glenfield. Key Responsibilities:
- Duty & Assessment Cycle: Complete high-quality Section 17 Child & Family Assessments and Section 47 safeguarding enquiries across the county on a structured 4-week duty cycle.
- Innovative Pilot Practice: Opportunity to participate in the Families First Partnership Programme (including the Hinckley Pilot), seeing cases through from initial referral threshold to ongoing interventions, including the Public Law Outline (PLO).
- Risk & Threshold Management: Evaluate incoming information, consider support needs, and manage initial safeguarding interventions before transferring cases to ongoing teams.
- Multi-Agency Leadership: Collaborate with health, education, police, and wider partnership agencies to deliver holistic risk management.
What We Are Looking For:
- Professional Qualifications: Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Employment History: Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience employed directly as a Social Worker (permanent employment history).
- Core Competencies: Extensive knowledge of Children Act legislation, Section 17/47 frameworks, and court procedures (PLO).
- Transport: Full, valid UK driving licence with daily access to a vehicle for county travel.
- Key Skills: Excellent communication, strong IT literacy, and exceptional time-management capabilities under pressure.
