Leicestershire County Council is recruiting a skilled Senior Social Worker to join their fast-paced First Response Team. Offering a competitive rate of £38.00 per hour, this role is specifically structured for 18.5 hours per week across the start of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front-Door Triage & Assessment: Lead initial multi-agency contacts, referrals, and rapid statutory risk assessments for children and families.
- Child Protection Enquiries: Conduct Section 47 enquiries, risk analyses, and urgent safeguarding interventions at the point of access.
- Senior Decision-Making: Apply advanced professional judgment to establish appropriate thresholds, safety plans, and referral pathways.
- Team Guidance: Support junior practitioners and duty workers during high-volume referral intake periods.
Working Schedule:
- Total Hours: 18.5 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Monday (Full Day), Tuesday (Full Day), Wednesday (Morning until 12:30 PM)
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications & SWE: Recognised Social Work qualification with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Statutory Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience at a Senior Social Worker level within statutory Children's Social Care (First Response, MASH, Duty & Assessment, or Referral & Assessment).
- Schedule Availability: Must be fully available to work the required Monday to Wednesday morning shift pattern.
- Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for urgent home visits across Leicestershire.
